Municipal Election 2010
The Municipal Election will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010. Registration, Nomination and Campaign Period for the 2010 Municipal Election commenced January 4, 2010.
Please check this site often as it will be expanded when new information is received and as we get closer to Election Day 2010.
- Identification Requirements - When You Vote Important Information for All Voters
In the The Town of Aylmer, the following are the offices available for nomination, all to be elected at large (municipal wide):
- Office of Mayor (Head of Council) - 1 to be elected
- Office of Deputy Mayor - 1 to be elected
- Office of Municipal Councillor - 5 to be elected
The term of office for municipal council and school boards is for four (4) years. The term starts December 1, 2010 and ends November 30, 2014.
Casting a ballot exercises your democratic right to vote. It allows you to choose who you wish to make decisions about the future of your community, the services, programs, facilities and how the monies will be spent to achieve the related goals and objectives over the next four years. The determination of goals and objectives for the next term of Council and the allocation of monies for programs, services and facilities will have a direct impact on your community’s quality of life.
