About Aylmer Area Community Band

The Aylmer Area Community Band (AACB) is a concert band with a true community feel. Our members range in age as well as in experience and ability, but we all come together and play for the same love of music.

The idea of a community band was conceived by the Aylmer Millennium Committee and with funds from the Aylmer Area Community Foundation the AACB was born in May 1999.

Performances

During our banding season we give several performances in the community. We go to the local nursing homes and senior's residences, play for the Remembrance Day Ceremony and Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and have performed for local ribbon cuttings as well. In the past we have also competed in local music festivals. The main focus of each year however is the concerts we give with our sister group
the Aylmer Area Community Choir (AACC).

AACB Meetings and Membership

The AACB meets every Monday night from September to May under the baton of our professional director, Dave Dykeman. We work hard during our practices, learning new music and polishing the familiar ones, but we have a lot of laughs too. You never know what new piece of musical trivia Dave might have for us.

We always welcome new members to the AACB. For more information on meetings, practice times, or membership fees please contact us.
