Earlier this morning, local government officials were joined by members of the press for an exciting NEWS RELEASE for the Town of Aylmer, The Township of Malahide and Elgin County as a whole. The Elgin Innovation Centre, formally the Imperial Tobacco building, will become home to a second manufacturing location for Vidir Bins from Morris, Manitoba.

THANK YOU to all the residents and businesses that participated in the Community Challenge Day! The results are in for the community that achieved the largest reduction in electricity use from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.on Wednesday August 11. The winner for the Megawatt-Reduction Category was Goderich with a reduction of 5.7 percent. Aylmer was the runner up with 4.9 percent, Kingston (last year’s Woodstock Cup winner, 4.5 percent) and St. Thomas (4.3 percent).

The Aylmer Community Foundation provided $3000.00 in grants to provide a lift that may be used as a means of access/egress to the local pool for those persons needing assistance.

Dog Owners within the Town of Aylmer are required to have each dog registered within the Town by February 15 2010. The Dog Licensing Fee is $16.00 per dog, with a $2.00 reduction granted if the tag is purchased prior to January 30, 2010.
The 2010 dog tags are only available at the Aylmer Town Hall during regular office hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday COMMENCING DECEMBER 1,2009.
