Mayor’s Welcome

Welcome to Aylmer, Ontario. We are very proud of our small and vibrant community. Town Council and Staff are committed to ensuring and enhancing our small Town atmosphere. Our quality of life is beyond compare and our families and neighbourhoods feel safe. The Town is attractive and continues to make great strides municipally, industrially and residentially to this end. In 2007 the Town won the Communities in Bloom National competition in the 5000 to 10000 category.

Our heritage is important to us and we take an active interest and role in preserving some of our unique and mature buildings. We take particular pride in our Old Town Hall Theatre which is municipally owned, not to mention our annual Heritage Tour showcasing other beauties.

The Town of Aylmer is East Elgin’s market centre. We facilitate and encourage enterprise in business and seek planned and orderly growth. Economic diversity is obvious in town and we have an active plan to continue to develop and nourish this market. Our industrial park grows each year. Our commercial core is vibrant and strong. Our downtown core area is absolutely thriving.

This community is without question one of the most spirited in Southwestern Ontario where caring, sharing and volunteerism is second nature.
